David Tennant

Another New Insert

The Radio Times came out today and inside was an article on David Tennant who is in a new drama next week called The Escape Artist.  There was a lovely photo inside and I thought it would make a lovely insert at the front of my A5 Domino, it's not perfect but I think it will do quite nicely.

I can't wait to see him in the 50th Anniversary edition of Doctor Who but hopefully this new drama will keep me happy until then.

My Filofax Week 31

My Week

I'm a little late again posting My Week but not as late as last week.  A relatively quiet week I suppose with my son up in Scotland visiting his brother.  Still have nights where I get virtually no sleep and still trying to stick with my diet.  Here's My Week I hope you find it interesting.

I hope you all have a good week.

Flex Notebook

A Slim Flex Notebook In Nappa Leather

I'm just going to do a quick post about my lovely Slim Nappa Leather Black Notebook. This beautiful notebook arrived today from the lovely people at Filofax UK.  As you may recall I went to a Philofaxy Meetup at the Filofax head office and further to that meetup they've been kind enough to send me this Flex notebook.

As always lots of little pockets and hidden compartments.

Ruled Notebook, Jotter & Pen Holder

Perfect for those times when I don't need my Filofax organiser and always handy for making quick notes because I can always keep it in my bag.

My Filofax Week 30

My Week

Sorry I'm a little late posting My Week, the week turned out exceptionally busy. Meeting up with someone I hadn't seen for twenty six years on Monday.  It was my birthday on Thursday and then on Sunday I had to help my son get ready to go and see his brother in Scotland.  After all that here's My Week.

I hope you all have a great week.

Until next time

Job Search

Jobseeker Insert

My son has reached the stage when he now has to secure employment; unfortunately any type of job is hard to come by.  Until my son finds work he has to sign on to get Jobseekers Allowance. Part of the requirement for getting Jobseekers Allowance is that you record all your attempts to secure employment. So my son can keep on top of the information that is required I have created this diary insert that will fit inside an A5 Filofax organiser.

The Jobcentre Plus has advised him that it is more than adequate for recording his job search.  All he has to do now is keep it up to date and hopefully find a job.

A Different Type Of Filofax Page

Blotting Paper

When I went to the Philofaxy Meet Up in London I was reminded by Kate how much I enjoy writing with my cartridge pen. The pen I use is a blue Pentel Tradio cartridge pen.  Unfortunately the ink can take a short while to dry and if I close my organiser to soon the ink can transfer to another page.  On Saturday I thought I would buy some blotting paper to cut to size and use in my Filofax but I didn't realise how expensive it would be.  Two sheets of blotting paper in a pack costs over £5 which I think is too expensive.  Then I remembered I'd bought a sketch pad from The Works but the paper was just too soft.  I tested the paper on some writing I'd done and found it did the job exceptionally well.  It's not as thick as normal blotting paper but it doesn't need to be. Here is some pictures of the cut to size paper inside my Filofaxes.

I feel very pleased that I now have my blotting paper and I paid nothing for it as it was an item I already owned.

My Filofax Week 29

My Week

It's Sunday again so welcome to My Week.  Nothing exceptional happened this week but busy as always.  I do expect this week to be more interesting than last week, firstly it's my birthday on Thursday and secondly I'm meeting up with someone tomorrow who I haven't seen for twenty six years.  That said here's this week I hope you find it interesting.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope it's as sunny with you as it is here in Sussex.

Philofaxy Meetup Part One

Filofax Burgess Hill

Last Friday was the first of the Philofaxy Meetups and was held at the Filofax offices in Burgess Hill.  I arrived first as I was only travelling from East Sussex, that said my journey was probably longer as I had to change trains and managed to miss one.  When I arrived I was greeted by the lovely Sharon Golbey the Head of Marketing Services.  I was able to chat with everyone while I waited for the rest of the group to arrive.

When everyone else arrived Sharon explained to us some of the developments that occurred since the company changed ownership.  Members of the Philofaxy group were also able to give their opinions on Filofax products and the Filofax website.

I also got to meet Kym who I'd had contact with previously when I did a post for the new Filofax website.

The Filofax team created a number of presentations for us to look at.  There was a display of vintage Filofaxes which have been manufactured over the years, old swatch cards and old catalogues.

Everyone also got the chance to look at many of the Filofax organisers currently or recently on sale.

Philofaxy members were in the position of being able to chat about and admire Filofax organisers at the same time.

Finally as we were about to leave we were each presented with a bag of Filofax goodies.  I received a Flex Notebook Cover with a ruled notebook, jot pad and a movable pen holder.  I also received a small yellow pen and an A5 Flex ruled notebook.  Lastly I received a lovely card which gave me a discount on my next online Filofax purchase.

My journey to the Filofax offices may have taken some time but when I got there it was well worth the trip. Everybody was so friendly, be they members of the Philofaxy group or the staff of Filofax UK

Brushing Up My Filofax

Keeping My Songbird Clean

I often wondered what I would do if the fabric on My Personal Songbird became dirty and at the weekend I was faced with that challenge.  Unfortunately I didn't photograph the marks so I can't give you a before photo. I can show you what I used to remove the long line of dirt which appeared on the back.

I have two pairs of Converse suede boots and I use a very soft suede brush to clean them. Using that plastic brush very gently I was able to remove every bit of the dirt. The brush is made by a company called Mr Bartlett and cost me a few pounds in Tesco.

I now know that removing dirt from my Songbird is quite simple with my suede brush, I only hope that if I get any stains on it they will be just as easy to remove.
